Moving to Taiwan

Located just off of the mainland in China and owning one of the largest population densities worldwide, is Taiwan. Those who choose to relocate here will experience views of mountainous lands, exceedingly high peaks, hot springs and a reserve of nature like nowhere else. The country is composed of contemporary cities that reflect the Chinese culture, which is very appealing to expats from the Western demographic. Many of the expats relocating to this country do so to instruct the English language. In the process of teaching, many find themselves caught up in the offerings of the new generations take on the ways of the world.

The People

The Taiwanese are by nature a friendly group of people and very gracious in their duties. They extend hospitable acts of kindness to visitors and expats to make them feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. Any expat relocating to Taiwan shouldn’t have to worry about being lost or confused because there is always a friendly local around to help out. The main religions are Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism and there is a strong tribute to the ancestors of Taiwan as well. There are strong culture practices such as sacred shrines for incense burning and presentation of offerings to ancestors. The cities are filled with beautiful temples and mosques and churches are very common.

The Political Issue

There are problems that exist between Taiwan and China due to autonomous positioning of the country. Although, there is a long cultural association with China, most people view the country as independent and have no desire of unification with China. This is the igniting spark of the political hardship that exist between the two. Those who relocate to Taiwan are not likely to feel the repercussions of the political stress.
