The UAE is blooming at a significant pace and has an important stance in tourism and international business platforms. Some parts of the region are making noticeable contributions to the infrastructure and design of hotels and numerous skyscrapers that exist. Almost 90% of the country is made up of desert and mountain trails and welcomes a very large expat population. In fact, nearly half of the population is made up of expats who have relocated to the UAE. The factor that attracts most people here is the practice of free tax, which allows a very high standard of living. For most, it’s quite a nice place to reside and there is much to be enjoyed with the many options for entertainment and shopping. Raising a family here is ideal for most expats who choose to relocate here with their loved ones.
Cost of Living
The previous year presented a sizeable decrease to the cost of living bracket in the majority of UAE cities and recent reports reflected none of the UAE cities among the top ten most expensive cities to live. In a common ranking or comparison, Abu Dhabi is a bit more costly to live than Dubai but neither are expensive by design. Most expats find the low level of taxation very accommodating in the purchase of many major items such as automobiles, local goods and electronics. In addition, many experience lower costs for utilities here than other areas, due to the subsidies the government has on utilities.
It is always good to know what is acceptable and not acceptable prior to trying to or entering a new country. Those who have passports from Israel or with entry and exit stamps on them will more than likely not gain access to any country in the UAE. Never allow anyone who requests to keep your passport permission to do so. Alcohol purchases will require a permit and the Emirate of Sharjah doesn’t allow any form of alcohol. Other than for UAE nationals, free-state education does not exist. Below is a list of seven of the smaller emirates.
- Abu Dhabi
- Ras al Khaimah
- Umm al Qaiwain
